Faith Kipyegon steals the limelight at Doha Diamond League outing

Other Kenyans posted mixed results in the event held in the Qatari capital
Kenyan athlete Faith Kipyegon claimed victory in the women's 1500m race at the Doha Diamond League Outing with a world leading time of 3:58:57.
Kipyegon's impressive performance saw her finish ahead of Ethiopia's Welteji Diribe who came second in 3:59:34, and Hailu Freweyni who finished third in 4:00:29. Meanwhile, fellow Kenyan Winny Chebet finished ninth in 4:24:21.
Faith Kipyegon has trained really well.. Fingers crossed all goes well because this is going to be another great season for world's greatest 1500m athlete.

In other events, Kenyan Wycliffe Kinyamal finished second in the men's 800m race with a time of 1:46:41, behind Algerian Slimane Moula who clocked 1:46:06. Unfortunately, Noah Kibet had a disappointing performance and finished tenth in 1:49:95.
In the women's 3000m steeplechase, Kenyan-born Bahraini athlete Winfred Yavi dominated the field with a world leading time of 9:04:38, finishing ahead of Ethiopian Sembo Almayew who clocked 9:05:83, and Faith Cherotich who finished third in 9:06:43. Kenyan athlete Jackline Chepkoech finished seventh in 9:17:15.
Other notable results
3000m Men
It was a clean sweep for Ethiopians in the 3000m race with Lamecha Girma winning in a Meet Record of 7:26:18 ahead of Selemon Barega (7:27:16 - PB) and Berihu Aregawi (7:27:61).
100m women
Sha'Carri Richardson beat Jamaican Shericka Jackson in the women's 100m race, finishing in a World Lead and Meet Record of 10.76 seconds. Shericka was second in 10:85s.
