The final of the 13-leg series is set for 7 and 8 September
World 800m bronze medalist Mary Moraa, buoyed by her performance at the Brussels Diamond League where she competed in 400m, says she is eyeing the overall title when action moves to Zurich for the final event.
Moraa will compete in her two-lap race as she says the decision to compete in 400m at the penultimate DL held last week was to help her regain her speed, having taken a short break after back-to-back races at the World championships to win bronze and the Commonwealth Games where she stunned a loaded field for gold.
“Going to Zurich, of course I want to do my best and try to win but I know it will not be easy. Everyone has prepared and trained well and everyone wants that trophy. I will go there, pray for energy and whatever comes, I will be thankful,” she offered in an interview with Sports Moran.
She clocked 50.67 in Brussels for fourth place which is a new national record, breaking her own mark she set during the World Championships trials at Kasarani.
After Brussels the line up for Zurich is decided and Moraa will renew rivalry with the woman she beat for gold in Birmingham during the club games Keely Hodgkinson.
