
World lead for Wanyonyi as Omanyala dips under 10 second to finish behind Lyles in Paris

Three records were broken on the night as Kipyegon got her second in a week while Lamecha Girma clocked 7:52.11 in the men's 3000m steeplechase.
Former World Under-20 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi overcame a strong field and a five-man close finish at the Paris Diamond League, dipping on the line to win the race in a new personal best (PB) of 1:43.27 to become the fastest man in the world this year.
Wanyonyi, who looked beat on the home straight kept working, running on the outside lanes and his efforts paid off as he closed out the meet with a win, beating Marco Arop on the line as the Canadian ran 1:43.30 while Slimane Moula came through for third in 1:43.38 a PB.
Commonwealth Champion Wycliffe Kinyamal faded in the last 10m to finish sixth, albeit with a season best time of 1:43.56 while Olympic and Wolrd champion Emmanuel Korir was tenth in 1:47.71, a season best in as he continued to struggle with form.
Elsewhere, Commonwealth Games 100m champion Ferdinand Omanyala went under 10 seconds, maintaining a good run in the Diamond League, despite having not won any of his three races so far, clocking 9.98 seconds to finish second.

Word champion in the 200m Noah Lyles, once more beat the African record holder (after their 150m clack at the Atlanta Games) dipping on the line to deny the Kenyan, clocking 9.97 seconds for the win.
World Under-20 record holder Botswana's Letsile Tebogo rounded out the podium with 10.05 in perfect sprinting conditions at the Stade Charlety.
Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs who has had a difficult start to the season, twice pulling out of 100m showdowns with world champion Fred Kerley due to a back problem, crossed well off the pace in 10.21, in seventh.

2011 world champion Yohan Blake of Jamaica was out fastest, but Lyles showed some class in his transition into the final 50 metres to pull clear, albeit with African champion Omanyala who is this season's fastest after running 9.84 seconds in toe.
Blake clocked 10.16 seconds.
