Since their promotion to the National Super League, they have recorded eight wins, four draws, and seven losses.
Despite sitting 19 points shy of league leaders Migori Youth, the club’s trajectory both on and off the pitch has drawn the attention of many stakeholders.
Beyond their results, 3K FC have secured high-end sponsorships, including backing from Mozzart Bet, and are in the process of constructing a clubhouse, moves that signal growing institutional stability.
Their rise has been relatively swift.
In May 2024, 3K FC earned promotion to the National Super League after a decisive 3–1 victory over Kibra United at Moi Stadium in Embu.
The win allowed them to edge past Fortune Sacco in the tightly contested race for the promotion ticket.
Although the two sides were separated by just a single point, fortunes ultimately favored 3K, who capitalized on home advantage to seal their place in the Super League.
According to Njagi, the club’s progress is rooted less in luck and more in deliberate leadership practices.
“One of the major challenges facing Kenyan football is leadership. One practice I have always upheld, and one I encourage fellow chairmen to embrace, is honesty and transparency in how they run their clubs,” he said.
Njagi emphasized that grassroots football in Kenya often struggles with limited resources, and mismanagement of funds only compounds the problem.
He noted that 3K FC has made financial accountability a non-negotiable pillar of its operations.
“You will find that many grassroots teams struggle with resources. Funds may be provided, but proper accountability is often lacking. At 3K FC, one of the key structures we have put in place is accountability for every coin. Whether the money comes from fans, gate collections, or any other source, it is fully accounted for, and we eventually break it down and report back to our supporters,” he offered.
The chairman revealed that the club conducts weekly financial reviews to maintain transparency.
“We hold weekly meetings where the team manager presents the budget for home matches, and after away fixtures, he submits an expenditure report,” Njagi explained.
For Njagi, governance and culture are inseparable.
He believes that clubs built on integrity are more attractive to sponsors and long-term partners.
“Clubs must be anchored on the pillars of honesty, truthfulness, and transparency. By doing so, they will attract more partners and sponsors. It is also important to bring on board people who are genuinely passionate about the sport and committed to the changes they want to see,” he added.
He also addressed the role of supporters, calling for a shift in fan mentality to ensure sustained backing regardless of results.
“We should move away from having ‘cosmetic’ fans, those who only show up when the team is winning and disappear when results go against them. Fans must accept that a team can win, lose, or draw. Once they understand this, it becomes easier to withstand the pressure and challenges that come with supporting a football club,” he added.
