After one of the worst seasons in the club's history, the Red Devils' squad needs a rebuild. According to sources from England, two major reinforcements could arrive from Portugal and one of the Premier League rivals

As their only essential clashes will be the upcoming UEFA Europa League semi-finals against Athletic Bilbao and the eventual final of the second-tier European competitions, Man United can turn to pursuing reinforcements that would improve their squad, as the current team has proven to be subpar.

The Red Devils have been after a new custodian for some time, given that Andre Onana's season has been full of ups and downs, while his recent performances hinted at his inability to give confidence and stability to the team's defensive line.

After Southampton's Aaron Ramsdale and Zion Suzuki of Parma, who have been mentioned as potential targets, the Old Trafford side has allegedly eyed another candidate for the spot between posts. According to sources from both England and Portugal, United's representatives were at Estadio do Dragao, watching the game between Porto and Famalicao and scouting the Dragons' keeper and captain, Diogo Costa.

The 25-year-old has spent his entire career with Porto and is currently the #1 on the Portugal national team. He particularly caught the public's eye during the 2024 EURO, where he was one of the best players in Roberto Martinez's crew.

If United indeed want to sign Costa, they'll probably have to splash out around €75 million - the amount of the goalie's release clause.

However, the Portuguese is not the only Red Devils' target, as they are reportedly keen on the currently joint-eighth Premier League top scorer - Wolverhampton's Matheus Cunha.

The Brazilian's release clause is €70 million, and the Wolves won't be able to demand more. Nevertheless, the Manchester side would reportedly like to pay the sum in several instalments, which the club from Molineux rejected.

This season, Cunha has been putting in the best displays in his career, noting 14 goals and four assists in EPL. The numbers become even more exceptional knowing that Wolverhampton have been relegation-strugglers practically since the beginning of the season.

Finally, since the 25-year-old forward would ideally fit Ruben Amorim's philosophy, the Red Devils would allegedly be willing to sell some of their loaned players - Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, or Antony.
