AFC Leopards prodigy Kayci Odhiambo harbours dreams of playing abroad

If his early impressive displays are anything to go by, AFC Leopards centre back Kayci Odhiambo has already sent an ominous statement of intent of a bright future ahead of him as he harbours dreams of playing in Europe. 

Despite having little experience in the top flight, Odhiambo has looked at home at the heart of Ingwe’s defence fostering what promises to be a formidable partnership with Joachim Oluoch.

His impeccable performances have earned trust from AFC Leopards head coach Patrick Aussems who has relegated Robert Mudenyu to the bench to accommodate him. 

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Odhiambo revealed that he hopes to one day turn professional by moving to a league abroad preferably in Europe. 

“I have big ambitions of playing in Europe no player ever wants to play in the Kenyan leagues even for a season and I want to play this one and hopefully go abroad,” said Odhiambo.

The lanky centre back has proven that he is a rock on which a new cathedral at Leopards could be built as he looks comfortable with the ball and is rock solid in defence.

Odhiambo intimated that he is comfortable playing as a centre back and added that the club has been conceding goals due to misfortunes with Ingwe keeping two clean sheets in the last 10 games.

“Playing at the centre of defence is an exciting thing for me, I will continue pushing harder in order to maintain my position in the team and also help AFC move further up the table. We have been conceding goals due to bad luck because we have been playing well, working hard and everyone is giving their best but your opponent will always get a chance no matter how good you play,” added Odhiambo.
