Reportedly, Argentine could have stayed with the Citizens but Guardiola nipped such an idea in the bud
Sights of Pep Guardiola crying at Sergio Aguero's farewell went around the world. Heartwarming scenes of the club's greatest ever goalscorer leaving the club after 10 years. But it looks like it was not all sweet and peachy behind the curtains a while ago.
The Argentine has reportedly been left angered by the way the Spanish manager has dealt with his imminent departure from Etihad.
Kun Aguero made his final Premier League appearance on Sunday, scoring twice in a 5-0 win against Everton.
After the match and during the title celebration, Guardiola spoke about the striker in an interview with Sky Sports - he was left in tears as he described the 32-year-old as "a special person for all of us."
However, the respectable Athletic reports that things haven't always been pleasant between the pair during the final campaign together.
The outlet claims that Aguero would have been happy to stay at Man City and that it was Guardiola himself who decided Argentine's destiny at Etihad. Allegedly, the Spaniard was the one calling the shots and said the time was right for Aguero to depart.

It is even believed that the two spent a few weeks in March without talking to each other. Aguero kept being left out of the team despite being fit to play for the majority of the matches.
Regardless, two men embraced each other during City's title ceremony at the weekend, and appear to have made amends.
Guardiola had compliments to spare sent toward the Argentinian forward who established himself as a legend at Etihad Stadium - he will even get his own statue outside the venue.
Pep spoke about the huge impact Aguero had for City over the decade.
"We love him so much. He is a special person for all of us. He is so nice, he is so nice. He helped me a lot, he's so good.' the visibly emotional manager said.
"We cannot replace him. We cannot. They are many players we have had to discard like him, Joe Hart and David Silva, who have helped us this club to be what it is."
It is rumoured that Aguero is close to signing for Barcelona and that a two year deal with the Catalan giants is in the making.
