Ah, Kvaradona is back! The Georgian finally finds his Scudetto-winning form

The Neapolitans run riot at Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi

Georgian ace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia recaptured some of last season's magic with a stellar display at Hellas Verona on Saturday afternoon.

The champions of Italy started the 2023/24 season slowly, but Rudi Garcia's team is looking more and more like the one that strolled to the title last campaign. For all the problems with Victor Osimhen, he's getting the goals - and magic winger Kvaratskhelia is again looking like the guy who could do wrong last season.

Napoli's opponents this weekend may be the awful Hellas Verona, one of the candidates for relegation, but the manner in which Kvara scored two goals at Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi. The first of those was particularly reminiscent of the strikes he kept coming up in his first year with the Azzurri shirt. He gathered a pass on the left-hand side of the area and dazzled the defence before squeezing a left-footed shot in from a seemingly impossible angle.

Matteo Politano had already given the visitors a lead before Kvadona got a grasp on the game. The same player made it three before Darko Lazovic scored a consolation goal for the hosts, who are now really in trouble.

Inter, Milan and Juventus have been given a headstart in September, but Napoli finally look like proving last season's heroics weren't just a one-off.
