The CS for Interior and National Administration also pledged to deliver the promised club bus ahead of the new season
FKF Premier Club APS Bomet will be forced to temporarily use Kericho Green Stadium as their home ground ahead of their debut season in the top-flight, following fresh assurances regarding their permanent residences - Bomet IAAF Stadium.
The newly-promoted side had been in a limbo in regards to where its home matches would be held in the new season that begins next month, following urgent needs to improve the Bomet IAAF facility, due its dilapidated infrastructure.

Among the points of concern were the ground’s playing surface, drainage systems, inner perimeter fencing, and the players’ and officials’ changing rooms.
The club can now rest assured, after its patron and Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Kipchumba Murkomen, pledged for urgent rehabilitation of the grounds, giving a timeline of three months for the completion of the works.
"We’re finalizing the decision on what exactly to do at the Bomet IAAF Stadium pitch, & if H.E. the President agrees, it will take less than 3 months to deliver a proper pitch." ~ Our Patron, H.E. Speaking during the club’s fund drive at a Nairobi hotel on Wednesday, 20 August, Murkomen said: “After our visit at the Bomet stadium, I realised it was in a really pathetic state, and we cannot host a Premier League match there.
Initially, we thought of doing small adjustments, but we realized it required massive kind of work, almost like rebuilding. We are now consulting under the guidance of the President William Ruto, to do better work. Once we finalise what to do and he agrees, it will take less than three months to do the pitch.”
Meanwhile, Murkomen, who was flanked by the club’s Board Chairman Bishop Fred Akama, promised stakeholders that President Ruto would fulfill his pledge of a bus donation, while stating that civilian players, part of the APS Bomet team, would earn recruitment opportunities to join the Police Service.

“We will give key considerations for players who are non APS officers if they wish,” Murkomen stated.
Ahead of the new season, the club, which finished second in the National Super League (NSL) last season, has signed a blend of young and experienced players, who have been in camp at the Kericho Teachers Training College for the past three weeks.
The Michael Nam-coached side will unveil them next week, before embarking on their campaign, which begins away, against Shabana FC at the Gusii Stadium on 21 September.
