Arsenal's minimalism: Corner-kick goal & 1-0 win for the top of EPL table
Reading Time: 3min | Sat. 18.10.25. | 21:38
The Gunners once again proved that corner-kicks are their favourite set pieces, while Leandro Trossard scored another vital goal in a win over Fulham
A genuine "snoozefest" in London, but the one the Arsenal fans won't mind, as their men recorded another vital road win and continued their spell at the top of the Premier League table.
Once again, Mikel Arteta's men had trouble creating chances against Fulham's sturdy defence, and once again, a set piece they adore the most - a corner kick - brought them the victory.
Out of the few notable moments in the 90 minutes of football at Craven Cottage, the one from the 58th minute stood out. Bukayo Saka crossed the ball from a corner to the far post, where Leandro Trossard met it and smashed it into the net.
Truth be told, Arsenal were closer to the second goal than Fulham were to the leveller, as Marco Silva's men failed to meet expectations tonight.

Had it not been for Riccardo Calafiori's disallowed goal in the 16th minute and Viktor Gyokeres' 37th-minute effort, which Bernd Leno saved, there would have been almost no notable moments before the break.
The Gunners mainly controlled the game, weaving the web around Fulham's goal, but without success. On the other hand, the Cottagers had a few attempts, but none of them seriously tested David Raya's focus and skills.
After the break, the match continued at the same pace, but the situation changed. Probably the entire Craven Cottage was aware that everything Arsenal needed was a good corner-kick cross, and the visitors awaited it in the 58th minute! Bukayo Saka crossed it to the far post, where Leandro Trossard met it, and put the ball behind Leno's back, scoring a vital goal!

Even though they were trailing, Fulham barely showed any attacking aspirations. The Gunners were still in control, though they weren't forced to rush anything.
In the 66th minute, they were awarded a penalty following Kevin's tackle on Saka, but VAR overturned Anthony Taylor's initial decision. A quarter of an hour later, Gyokeres proved he was going through a slight crisis, as he wasted a decent chance in the rivals' box, sending the ball "to the orbit."
Nevertheless, the more important thing for the North London side's supporters than the Swede's form is that their lads will continue topping the Premier League table thanks to tonight's hard-won victory.
