One of the biggest talents in German football and the Bundesliga is on the verge of signing for Bayern Munich

Nick Woltemade appears to be on the verge of a major career step — and he has his sights set firmly on Bayern Munich. The tall striker is looking to leave VfB Stuttgart, ideally this summer, and is reportedly interested in joining only one club: the Bundesliga champions.

According to Sky and confirmed by BILD, Woltemade has yet to personally inform Stuttgart officials, including head coach Sebastian Hoeness, about his intentions. However, that conversation is expected to take place soon. What is clear is that his camp has already declined Stuttgart’s offer of a contract extension — a detail BILD revealed exclusively last week.

Behind the scenes, things are already moving. BILD reports that Bayern sporting director Max Eberl recently held detailed discussions with Woltemade’s agent, Danny Bachmann. The two reportedly covered transfer terms and outlined a potential path for a summer switch. Sources suggest Bayern are now fully committed to securing the deal — and plan to formally approach Stuttgart in the coming days.

Negotiations between Stuttgart and Woltemade had been ongoing, but hit a wall. After the club proposed a salary increase from 1.5 million euros to 2.5 million euros per year, talks stalled, and silence followed. Now, it’s evident: the young forward won’t be renewing. His priority is a move to Munich and a place at a Champions League-caliber club.

Woltemade is currently turning heads at the U21 European Championship in Slovakia, where he leads the scoring charts with six goals. On Sunday, he’ll face England in the final with Germany’s U21 side.

After an impressive debut season at Stuttgart — where he netted 17 times in 33 appearances following a free transfer from Werder Bremen — Woltemade might have already played his last game in a Stuttgart shirt.
