With both sides separated by just three points in the table, and recent fixtures producing goals in abundance, this matchup carries clear betting intrigue as well as league significance.

Brighton enters the round sitting 11th with 29 points from 21 matches, while Bournemouth occupies 15th place on 26 points, still looking over their shoulder despite a small buffer above the relegation zone.

Brighton return home buoyed by two impressive trips to Manchester in the past ten days.

Fabian Hürzeler’s side held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw in the league, before knocking Manchester United out of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.

Those results extended Brighton’s unbeaten run to four matches in all competitions.

Across their last six games, the Seagulls have won twice, drawn three and lost just once, averaging 1.33 goals scored per match while conceding exactly one.

At home, Brighton have been particularly reliable. They are unbeaten in their last three league games at the Amex, have scored in nine of their ten home league matches this season and have netted two or more goals in seven of those games.

Danny Welbeck remains a key figure, leading the scoring charts with eight goals, while Kaoru Mitoma and Georginio Rutter provide creativity between the lines.

Brighton will, however, be without Adam Webster, Solly March, Mats Wieffer and Stefanos Tzimas, while Carlos Baleba and Yankuba Minteh are both back in contention.

Bournemouth arrive on the back of contrasting emotions.

They ended an 11-game Premier League winless run by beating Tottenham 3-2, but their FA Cup hopes were dashed in a dramatic 3-3 draw and penalty defeat away at Newcastle.

Goals have been a constant theme in the Cherries’ matches.

Their last six games have averaged a staggering 4.5 total goals, with both teams scoring in all six.

Defensively, concerns persist, as Bournemouth have conceded an average of 2.5 goals per match over that period.

Away from home, Bournemouth’s numbers are even more striking.

Each of their last nine away matches has produced over 2.5 goals, and they have failed to win any of those games, drawing four and losing five.

Injuries continue to stretch Andoni Iraola’s squad, with Enes Unal, Justin Kluivert, Ryan Christie, Tyler Adams and Ben Doak all sidelined.

Eli Kroupi, who has seven league goals, is expected to shoulder more attacking responsibility following Antoine Semenyo’s departure.

Head-to-head meetings also point toward goals. Three or more goals have been scored in each of the last five encounters between these sides, while both teams to score (BTTS) has landed in four of the last six.

Brighton have also won their last four league meetings against Bournemouth at the Amex.

Key pointers;

Bournemouth’s last nine away fixtures have all produced at least four goals, highlighting extreme openness on the road.

Cherries matches have delivered the highest first-half scoring rate in the league, averaging 1.62 goals before the break.

Brighton have been consistently productive at home, scoring two or more goals in seven of their last nine Amex outings.

Goal-heavy trends dominate this matchup, with BTTS landing in Brighton’s recent games, Bournemouth’s last seven matches, and all of the last five H2Hs producing 3+ goals.

With Brighton’s improving momentum, Bournemouth’s defensive struggles on the road, and a strong historical trend for goals, this fixture shapes up as another open contest.

Even if Bournemouth strike first, their inability to protect leads away from home remains a major issue.

Prediction: Over 2.5 Goals and both teams to score (BTTS - Yes).
