For the entire 2021-22 season, Connor Gallagher was one of the fan favourites and most gifted Crystal Palace player. His name was often heard in the chants of the Eagles' supporters, but tonight, Gallagher ruined the night for them.
His brilliant performance, embellished with a brace for Chelsea, resulted in a 3-1 away win for the Blues after the hosts were 1-0 up thanks to Lerma's opener.

Mauricio Pochettino's side struggled heavily for the vast part of the match, conceded a stunner and seemed to be heading for a critical fall. However, that was the moment star boy Connor stepped up and directed a stunning comeback.
Firstly, he levelled the score two minutes into the second half following Malo Gusto's cross. And then - after a couple of Petrovic's remarkable saves on the other end - Gallagher slotted it low minute into the stoppage time for a jubilation both in the stands among the Blues' fans and on the pitch.

A huge relief that followed allowed Chelsea to strike again soon, as Roy Hodgson's crew opted for a risky late offence. It triggered a quick counter, and Nkunku linked up with Enzo Fernandez for a smooth finishing and the visitors' third goal of the game and win.
