Bullets came into the game carrying a 2-0 advantage from the first leg away from home on 20 August, and got the all decisive goal from Ephraim Kondowe, who came off the bench to lurch onto a Patrick Mwaungulu pass in the 67th minute, making the aggregate score 3-0.
Senaji was last week among a group of six players that arrived from Equatorial Guinea - where the tie’s first leg was held - with a flu.
Early team news to Sunday’s game indicated that he, Mwaungulu, Kondowe, Frank Willard, Kesten Simbi and McFallen Mgwira were under medication to make it in time for the second leg.
Ultimately, Senaji was involved, and having recovered from a previous stress fracture, led Bullets to the memorable win.
With the victory, The Peoples Team will now progress to the second round of the competition - where they are expected to face Democratic Republic of Congo’s TP Mazembe in the second preliminary round mid September.
