CAFCC round up: Four teams unbeaten after matchday three

Raja Casablanca is the only side in the CAF Confederation Cup still having a 100% record.

Orland Pirates, JS Kabylie, CS Sfaxien and Raja Casablanca kept their unbeaten records in the CAF Confederation Cup intact after matchday three on Sunday.

Napsa Stars 0-1 Cotton Sport

Former Gor Mahia defender David Calabar Owino was the only Kenyan to feature in matchday three as he came on a minute to the halftime break for Napsa Stars.

Calabar replaced Bornwell Silengo who was stretchered off after picking up a knock in the game while his compatriot Shaban Odhoji was an unused sub in the game.

The Zambian side who are making their debut in the tournament suffered a 0-1 defeat to Cotton Sport as they went down to an Abdouraman Daman.

Napsa are rooted to the bottom of Group B standings with a single point and face an uphill battle to qualify for the knockout phases of the tournament.

Enyimba 2-1 ES Setif 

Nigerian champions Enyimba came from a goal behind to beat Algerian outfit 2-1 and move to the summit of Group A standings.

Monsef Bakrar needed only 13 minutes to put Setif ahead but Augustine Oladipo ensured Enyimba went into the half time break level with a goal five minutes before the break.

Tosin Omoyele bagged the winner at the stroke of the half-hour mark as Enyimba claimed three vital points to boost their progression to the quarter-finals.

Namungo 0-1 Nkana

Nkana FC picked up their first points in the tournament after claiming a 0-1 away win over Tanzanian minnows Namungo.

The game started an hour late as Nkana's Covid-19 test results with the results of Moses Mapulanga and Justin Mwanza allegedly failing to return from the test lab.

Diamond Chikwekwe scored the lone goal for Nkana in the 69th minute to end their two-game losing streak in the competition. 

Namungo who qualified for the tournament after winning the Tanzanian FA Cup are the only side in the tournament yet to pick up a single point.

Jaraaf 2-0 Salitas

Jaraaf also claimed their first victory in the tournament this season after edging Burkinabee side Salitas 2-0.

First-half goals from Albert Diene and Papa Paye sealed victory for the Senegalese side who moved level on points with second-placed Etoile du Sahel.

Etoile du Sahel 0-0 CS Sfaxien

The Tunisian derby ending in a barren draw with the last four Sfaxien games in all competitions ending in a stalemate.

The result leaves both sides in qualification slots as Sfaxien top Group C having failed to lose a single match.

Raja Casablanca 2-0 Pyramids

Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca beat Egyptian moneybags Pyramids FC 2-0 with both goals coming inside the opening 21 minutes.

Sherif Ekramy was unfortunate to turn the ball into his own net in the 15th minute as Ben Malango doubled Raja’s lead six minutes later.

Raja are the only side that still possesses a 100% record in the tournament this season after narrowly missing out on the Champions League following a 1-0 aggregate loss to Teungueth FC.

Al Ahli Benghazi 0-0 Orlando Pirates

Al Ahli goalkeeper Murad Al Wuheeshi put on a man of the match performance as he denied Pirates on several occasions to earn his team a deserved point.

Group A remains wide open with second-placed Pirates enjoying a single point advantage over Al Ahli Benghazi.

RS Berkane 0-0 JS Kabylie

Moroccan side RS Berkane failed to find a way past a 10-man JS Kabylie as Malik Raiah was handed his marching orders in the 77th minute for a second bookable offence.

The reigning champions failed to convert their numerous chances they created in the clash leaving them outside the qualifying slots.
