Cameroonian wins it for Napoli, Roma's 'minimalism' for 2/2

Both the Neapolitans and the Wolfess recorded 1-0 victories over Cagliari and Pisa, respectively, as Frank Anguissa and Matias Soule were the two teams' heroes

Napoli urgently need a striker and can only hope that their latest acquisition, Rasmus Hojlund, will bring them goals, though the Dane's form doesn't promise much. Otherwise, their title-defending campaign won't be as good as they hope.

In the opening Serie A round against Sassuolo, Scott McTominay and Kevin De Bruyne came to the rescue, and last night against Cagliari, another midfielder had to step up and score a winner - Frank Anguissa.

The Neapolitans' former custodian, Elia Caprile, was magnificent in the Sardinia crew's goal, and it seemed that Antonio Conte's men would drop points already in the second round, but the Cameroonian didn't let that happen, scoring a vital winner in the 95th minute!

This way, Napoli kept the perfect score at the beginning of the new season in Italy, though it's questionable for how much longer their midfielders would be capable of saving them.

On the other hand, there's a team that will - if the morning indeed shows the day - heavily rely on minimalism this season - AS Roma.

Namely, under the new boss Gian Piero Gasperini, the Wolfess beat Bologna at home 1-0 last week, and last night against Pisa on the road, both the result and the outcome were the same.

This time, Matias Soule was the Giallorossi's match winner, scoring the decisive goal in the 55th minute following Evan Ferguson's assist. The Argentinian could have completed a brace just six minutes later, but his second goal was ruled out due to a handball.

At the moment, Napoli and Roma, alongside Cremonese, sit at the top of the Serie A table with a perfect score in the first two rounds. Today, the two teams that could join the leading trio, Juventus and Inter Milan, will play their games.

The Bianconeri will face a tough clash on the road against Genoa (19.30), while the Nerazzurri will host Udinese (21.45).
