Makati has only made the 20-man match day squad once for Simba wa Nairobi this season

Nairobi City Stars youngster Rowland Makati is waiting patiently for his Premier League debut having been registered for the season after his loan spell at Nairobi Stima last season.

Makati spent the entire 2020/2021 campaign as a loanee to former National Super League outfit Nairobi Stima, now defunct.

The former Vapor Sports player was named on the team sheet once but ended up being unused in the 1-0 loss to KCB in December last year.

However, despite not getting the chance to make his maiden topflight appearance, the attacking midfielder is keeping his faith and working towards making the dream a reality in the near future.

The midfielder acknowledged that there is stiff competition in the side but noted that he will not let that get in the way for him, promising to keep his eyes on the prize.

“The season is going on very well for the team. Everyone is at their best and the competition for positions is really stiff. I am not about to lose focus because of the competition. I am focused and I know that my time (to play) will come. And when that day comes, I will not let go, it will be hard to bump me off the team,” he is quoted as saying in the club's portal.

Recently, Makati was on target in a friendly early in February as City Stars trounced Kibera United 4-1 at Ligi Ndogo Grounds.

City Stars have had a good run this season and are currently second on the log with 35 points, five off the leaders Kakamega Homeboyz who are on 40, and boast of a lethal attack line that has scored 31 goals.
