Bomet, who are unbeaten in six matches, were placed 16th with 25 points prior to the game.
The Mailmen, on the other hand, had lost their three previous matches, including a 2-0 loss to Nairobi United in the Mozzart Bet Cup Round of 16.
Desperate for a win, APS Bomet started the match on a high note- and took the lead inside five minutes through Maxwell Kubasu whose cross sailed past a fully stretching Bixente Otieno.
Posta responded with attacks from Caleb Olilo and Eliud Lokuwam but none was able to change the scoreline by the 20th minute.
Fredrick Omondi became the first player to be cautioned after going into the book in the 24th minute for attempting to stop Posta from launching an attack.
Just as it was in the first half, APS began the second half strongly and doubled their lead in the 47th minute through Edward Masembe whose brilliant free kick found the back of the net with the aid of a deflection.
With a two-goal caution, APS went all out in their play, displaying some quick and neat exchange of passes, much to the jubilation of their travelling fans.
It was not long before their strong performance bore fruit again as Antony Naibei stepped forward to add his name in the score sheet in the 55th minute.
APS missed an opportunity to make it four in the 59th minute when Hansel Ochieng’s strike missed the target by a few inches.
The rest of the match saw Posta push hard for goals that never came as the Clifford Odhiambo-marshalled defense stood tall to preserve APS Bomet’s lead to full time.
With the win, APS have moved up to 14th on the log with 28 points, same as Ulinzi Stars as Kariobangi Sharks dropped to the relegation zone.
