The Uruguayan striker is eager to leave Anfield after three rather unsuccessful seasons, and his services will be needed elsewhere

He joined Liverpool in June 2022, but Darwin Nunez still hasn't proved to us he's got what it takes to be the Reds' striker. At least, not one of the Scousers could rely on to act as a Firmino 2.0, which was what he was expected upon arrival from Benfica.

The 25-year-old player is dissatisfied, too, and is looking for a new surrounding where he can finally prove his skills and qualities.

According to various reports, Nunez has found himself in a new club that - in truth - looks like a perfect match: Atletico Madrid.

As per Cadena SER, Los Colchoneros are interested in the Liverpool forward, and he's keen on a move to the Wanda Metrpolitano, where he could flourish under the tutelage of Diego Simeone.

Apparently, Atletico's people have already held talks with the Uruguay international and his representatives, where it was made clear that the player would be delighted to join Cholo's squad.

However, a problem might be the price, since Liverpool are demanding €45m, which is quite a lot, especially since Nunez is not the only player Atleti are eager to get in the upcoming transfer window.
