De Zerbi and Tottenham, one condition: staying in the Premier League

The Italian coach is ready to take charge of a struggling Tottenham, but he is waiting to see how the situation regarding their position in the table unfolds
Igor Tudor is there, but only temporarily, because even if he secures survival, it seems unlikely that Tottenham will offer him a permanent position. In any case, despite the delicate situation they find themselves in, the London club is already preparing for the upcoming summer and life after what will likely go down as the worst season in its modern history.
One of the key issues for the club’s leadership is the managerial position. Tottenham’s board has been working on it for some time and appears to be on the right track to finding a solution. According to the British Telegraph, one of their primary targets, Roberto De Zerbi, has expressed a desire to move to North London—but under one condition: that the club avoids relegation.
🚨 Roberto de Zerbi has always been a main candidate for Tottenham job in the summer, if Spurs stay in PL.

Top target as always reported since he left OM, with Pochettino another name on shortlist.

Although Tottenham will not be playing in European competitions, they are looking for a coach with experience in them, and De Zerbi, along with Mauricio Pochettino, is among the top wishes of last season’s Europa League winners.
The Telegraph also reports that preliminary talks have already taken place with the Italian coach, during which he showed openness to taking over Spurs if they retain their Premier League status. However, that task became significantly more difficult yesterday. In the 31st round, Tottenham suffered a heavy home defeat to Nottingham Forest, leaving them just above the relegation zone, with only a one-point advantage over West Ham, the first team below the line.
Therefore, their performance in the remaining seven rounds will determine not only who their manager will be next season and which players they can attract in the summer transfer window, but also the club’s longer-term future.
Tottenham are also searching for a new sporting director after Fabio Paratici left the club for the second time in January. According to the Telegraph, citing sources from Germany, one of Spurs’ options is Sebastian Kehl, who left Dortmund on Sunday after serving in the same role for just under four years.
However, the priority at the end of the season will be to find a new manager, and given the uncertainty surrounding the club, all options remain open. De Zerbi, who recently left Marseille, is regarded as a coach with a clear football philosophy and an attacking style of play, and he has already made a strong impression in English football during his time at Brighton.
For that reason, Tottenham’s board sees him as one of the leading candidates for a long-term solution on the bench, especially if the club manages to stabilize the situation and retain its top-flight status.
