Don't go with the flow: Bernardo Silva prefers Barca over Saudi Arabia

As per Footmercato, contrary to some reports, he is not close to agreeing on a move to the Saudi outfit Al-Hilal

His compatriot and Portugal teammate Cristiano Ronaldo started it, Karim Benzema followed the road, Ngolo Kante joined the party, and now, not a single day goes by without a mention of a possible next transfer to the Middle East. The latest name on the table is Bernardo Silva, 28, and for a while, it seemed like Manchester City's midfielder would probably join Al-Hilal.

However, contrary to reports in Spanish media, he is not close to making that deal, as per Foot Mercato. The treble winner is not convinced that moving to the Gulf kingdom would be the ideal next step for his career.

According to the outlet, the 28-year-old would be favouring a move to either Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain. PSG tried to offer Manchester City Marco Verratti (30) and Gianluigi Donnarumma (24) in exchange for Silva, to no avail yet.

It would be more complicated for Barcelona to agree on a transfer fee with Manchester City over Silva's transfer due to FFP complications. Still, if they were able to get Silva's teammate Ilkay Gundogan, maybe the Portuguese could take the same road and make Barca a real superpower next season.
