Doris Petra elected CECAFA Executive Committee member

TFF's Wallace Karia was re-elected the President

Acting Football Kenya Federation President Doris Petra will serve as a board member in the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) Executive Committee.

This is the recent development from the Elective General Assembly held on Friday in Zanzibar that saw Tanzania Football Federation's President Wallace Karia re-elected at the helm of the regional body for the second term.

The General Assembly which will have two members representing each of the 12 members will see the President, Vice Presidents, Members of the Executive Committee, and chairpersons of the Standing Committees of the Zone elected.

Karia will be deputized by Ethiopia's Isayas Jira with Muyenge Alexandre of Burundi, Rwanda's Olivier Mugambo, and Augustino Maduot of South Sudan being the other board members.

He was elected unopposed at Cecafa's Annual Congress in Kampala in 2019, coming on to replace Mutassim for the initial four-year term.

Apart from the elections, the members were set to discuss and ratify the CECAFA competitions and the calendar for 2023/2024, receive, discuss and ratify a proposal on the amendments of the CECAFA Statues, appoint auditors, receive and peruse the CECAFA Financial Reports for the Years 2022.

The 12 members of CECAFA include; Burundi, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Sudan, South Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania and Zanzibar.
