The two eternal rivals will square it out in the 98th derby that is promising to produce fireworks as both teams are bullish about emerging victorious.

Speaking during the team’s training session on Friday, 5 December at Nyayo Stadium, the Ghanaian spoke of Gor Mahia’s upper hand that might tilt the game in their favour.

“It will be more tactical because everyone is trying not to concede. However, for us, we have good and experienced players in midfield, and we are going to use that as our advantage and keep the ball and make sure that we control the game.

Any team that will control the game will get the three points,” said Morrison.

Morrison also shared why he believes the stakes of the match will be higher.

“They are a big and good team, just like us, and we are going to take it seriously. We shared points last season, and we are working to win this one.”

The former Asante Kotoko midfielder also had some encouraging words for the club's supporters.

“Relax. Relax,” he said. “We are going to get the three points. The game is not about who is on form or consistent. It is a big game in Kenyan football.

I have played in a couple of derbies here and in Ghana (Asante Kotoko vs Hearts of Oak), and form doesn't matter,” he remarked.

For Harambee Stars midfielder Austin Odhiambo, the match also provides an avenue for the team to bounce back from their 4-1 loss to Mozzart Bet-powered APS Bomet.

“For players, it is always good to play such games under pressure because everyone is watching.

The game has also come at the right time because we lost our match against Bomet. We want to show our fans that we are still okay,” said Odhiambo.
