Red Bulls of Leipzig eliminate Sociedad while Porto proceed after a stalemate with Lazio

Croatian powerhouses GNK Dinamo Zagreb failed to replicate the miracle they pulled off last season in UEFA Europa League against Tottenham Hotspur, as they crashed out of the play-off stages to ten-man Sevilla, albeit winning 1-0.

Sevilla march on toward their sixth trophy in the second-best European competition.

RB Leipzig qualified for the Round of 16 for the second time in their history, defeating Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena 3-1 on the night and 5-3 on aggregate. This result is the Spanish outfit's first home European defeat in six games. Dominant display of the German outfit and a deserved pass to the 1/8 finals.

Atalanta progressed after a 5-1 aggregate victory over Olympiacos - the Greek giants have now been eliminated in 15 of their last 16 two-legged contests after losing the first match.

Man of the match Ruslan Malinovskyi scored two goals of which the second was a work of art.

FC Porto booked their place in Round of 16 for the first time since the 2013/14 season, after securing a 4-3 aggregate victory over Lazio following a 2-2 draw against ‘Le Aquile’ at the Stadio Olimpico. Danilo Cataldi's late goal gave some hope to the home team but just wasn't enough for Maurizio Sarri's men.
