Vincent Kompany turns Jordan Beyer's loan to permanent transfer
Burnley returned to the Premier League at the first attempt after spending a year in the EFL Championship and have already secured their first signing ahead of the campaign in the top tier. It's not a fresh face, either - because it's the player who spent the past eight months at Turf Moor as a loaned player - Jordan Beyer. He joins the club for a fee believed to be in the region of $16.5 million.

The German impressed on his loan from Borussia Monchengladbach. The 22-year-old joined Burnley on 1 September and went on to make 35 appearances for the club. Beyer helped Vincent Kompany's side keep 18 clean sheets on the way to winning the 2022/23 Championship title.
"I couldn’t be happier at the moment! Lifting the trophy on Monday, winning the league and now set to become a Claret on a permanent basis. I've enjoyed being here since the moment i stepped into this building. It feels like home to me. I love playing at Turf Moor and celebrating with the fans and hopefully, there is more of that to come."
Burnley had the best defence in the second tier this season, conceding just 35 goals in 46 league games.
Beyer joins head coach Kompany in committing his long-term future to the club. The former Manchester City captain put pen to paper on a new five-year contract on Sunday.
