FKF release new league fixtures, without Zoo

With the 2020/2021 Football Kenya Federation Premier League tentatively set to resume on 12th May, exactly 50 days since the last ball was kicked in the country, Football Kenya Federation have moved in swiftly to release the rest of the season’s fixtures lined up till the end of the season.

Interestingly, in the fixtures, only seventeen teams have been paired against each other after Kericho based Zoo FC were expelled from the league following a FIFA ruling that had found them responsible for activities related to manipulation of football matches and competitions.

The first two matches that will get the league back to life will be rescheduled matches and will take centre stage next Wednesday. Among the four teams that are set to take part, the action will see two of the biggest teams in the country, Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards get involved. The first full round of matches will then be played on the weekend starting 14th May, just two days later after the rescheduled matches.

If everything goes according to the set calendar, there will be a pause in play from 30th May – 16th June to allow space for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Thereafter, there will be no break in play up until the scheduled end of the league which is planned for 28th August 2021.
