The relocation also breathes life into a venue that has been starved of top-flight action for over three years
FKF Premier League newcomers APS Bomet have announced a switch of their home ground from Gusii Stadium to Kericho Green Stadium, where they will now host their fixtures for the remainder of the season.

The decision comes barely days after the Administration Police-backed side successfully staged their maiden top-flight home fixture against Murang’a Seal at Gusii Stadium.
Despite succumbing to a 2-0 defeat, their second successive league loss, the outing was notable off the pitch, as the club banked Ksh124,450 in gate collections, signalling strong fan turnout and financial potential.
Confirming the development in a statement posted on their official platforms, APS Bomet expressed optimism about the move while rallying supporters to turn out in numbers:
“APS Bomet wishes to inform our fans, stakeholders, and the general public that Kericho Green Stadium has been approved as our official home ground for the remainder of the season.
We look forward to hosting our matches at this iconic venue and invite all our supporters to cheer on the team. Your unwavering support remains our greatest strength. Together, let’s make Kericho Green Stadium our fortress.”
The relocation also breathes life into a venue that has been starved of top-flight action for over three years. Kericho Green Stadium last hosted a Premier League tie on May 28, 2021, when Ulinzi Stars played Bandari to a barren draw.
The ground was previously synonymous with Zoo FC during their FKFPL days.
APS Bomet’s decision stems from the ongoing renovation of the IAAF Bomet Stadium, which is being upgraded to meet league hosting standards.
Key works include improvement of the playing surface, expansion of changing rooms, installation of modern toilets and drainage systems, completion of stands and terraces, upgrades to VIP and media areas, security reinforcements, and the addition of perimeter walls.
The stadium is set to host its first league match in over three years when Bomet takes on defending league champions Kenya Police FC on Saturday, 4 October.
