APS Bomet hosts Mara Sugar, Kakamega Homeboyz makes a trip to the Coast to face Bandari, while Mathare United welcomes Murang'a Seal.

Today's matches come after two matches were held on Friday, 9 January to mark the beginning of round 16.

Defending champions Police FC were held to a goalless draw by KCB FC while Bidco United and Sofapaka ended in a 1-1 draw.

Ahead of today's matches, AFC Leopards are on top of the league table with 27 points, one more than their arch-rivals Gor Mahia, with Kakamega Homeboyz closing the top three with 24 points.

At the opposite end of the table lies Kariobangi Sharks with 12 points, and are joined in the relegation zone by APS Bomet and Sofapaka with 13 points and 14 points respectively.

Bandari vs Kakamega Homeboyz

Coastal side Bandari FC will face Kakamega Homeboyz at the KPA Sports Club Mbaraki from 1500 hrs.

This will be Bandari’s first match of 2026, but for the visitors, it will be the second, having begun the year with a 1-0 victory over AFC Leopards on Sunday, 4 January.

Bandari head into the match on the back of a 1-0 victory over Mathare United in their last league match played on 21 December 2025, a win that ended a five-match winless streak for The Dockers.

The 2019 Mozzart Bet Cup winners have had a bad start to the season that saw coach Ken Odhiambo dismissed after three matches in charge.

His replacement, Mohammed Borji, did not perform any better, and was dismissed in December 2025 after a run of poor results.

The Coastal city of Mombasa outfit have since appointed Bernard Mwalala as their head coach, and makes a return to the club after he parted ways with them in January 2020.

The former Shabana FC assistant coach will be keen to guide the team to victory over his former club Kakamega Homeboyz, who also ended a four-match winless streak with the win over Leopards.

A win for the Mozart Bet-sponsored side will see them make a return to the top of the 18-team league table.

APS Bomet vs Mara Sugar

At the Kericho Green Stadium, league newbies APS Bomet will play host to Mara Sugar in a tussle that is scheduled for 1500 hrs.

APS head into the match occupying the relegation zone at 17th, and on the back of a three-match winless run including back to back losses to KCB FC and Tusker FC respectively in their last matches.

The law enforcers will be out to maximize on home advantage and secure a win that will help in their ambitions of retaining their league status.

The match will also be the first for head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo, who joined the club in November but was away on compassionate leave.

Mara Sugar, on the other hand, are 11th on the log, but failed to win their last two matches.

The Sugar Millers, who have a better away record than at home, will therefore be eyeing a win that would mark their return to winning ways.

Mathare United vs Murang'a Seal

The other match of the day will see 2008 league champions Mathare United lock horns with Murang'a Seal at the Kasarani Annex from 1500 hrs.

Ahead of the match, Murang'a Seal are 10th on the log, two places above Mathare United, but both teams are tied on 18 points and together with Mara Sugar, they are only separated by goal difference.

Mathare head into the match on the back of mixed results. In their last seven matches, they have won three, drawn one and tasted defeat three times including a 1-0 loss to Bandari in their last league match.

Head coach John Kamau has attributed the mixed results to their attack whose conversion rate has not pleased him.

Seal, on the other hand, are enjoying a nine-match unbeaten run, the longest in the league this season.

However, only three of those matches ended in wins, and coach Osborne Monday will be keen to turn some of the draws to wins.

Having won their last two matches, a win for Seal will see them record three consecutive wins for the first time in over two years.
