The tactician, now a free agent has set out a 'come get me' call for any willing employers

Former Gor Mahia assistant coach Michael Nam has revealed why he left FKF Premier League debutants APS Bomet after just three matches in charge.

According to Nam, the working conditions at the newly promoted side, coupled with a lack of quality players, made it impossible for him to perform.

The club is currently rooted at the bottom of the league standings with four points, having won just one of their past six matches.

“It was impossible for me to perform given the conditions I found at the club, and despite my advice that we recruit Premier League quality players, I was not given a chance.

Instead, there was demand to perform with the players who had helped the club to be promoted to the top league. In my opinion, these players could not help the club.

My plan was to ensure that the club survives relegation this season, and then next season we can fight for a respectable finish, but no one listened to me, so I left,” he said.

Nam insists he was not fired but just walked out of the club and says he was vindicated, as others who came after him have also left.

He pointed out that it is very difficult for a promoted side to compete in the current league without the right kind of players, given its competitive nature.

“If a club like AFC Leopards could struggle at the beginning of the season with all their experienced players, then it goes to show that a newly promoted side must sign well to have any chance,” added Nam.

Regarding his future, Nam said he is now a free agent and is willing to handle any club that requires his services.

“I am one of the most qualified local coaches, and coupled with my experience, I have the ability to handle any club locally or even in the region.”
