Former Real and PSG man brings down Spurs in 10 minutes

Reading Time: 3min | Sat. 11.11.23. | 17:37

Wolves were losing 1-0 when Sarabia came in and brought a total turnaround

When it was confirmed that Micky van de Ven and James Maddison will be out until January (at best), the already tricky away game at Wolverhampton became even more troublesome. Spurs travelled to Molineaux without a total of nine first-team players and the back four was particularly vulnerable. Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero (both suspensions) were missing and coach Ange Postecoglou paired Ben Davis and Eric Dier for the first time this season and it worked...nearly. It was the first minute of injury time when Wolves started one of many attacks in this game, but the difference this time was that Pablo Sarabia came minutes before. The former Real Madrid and PSG player showed his class and resolved the match in just 10 minutes with a goal and an assist: Wolves – Tottenham 2-1.

The Spanish international used his powerful technique to get to the ball and then score with a precise shot. Until then, Spurs were leading from the third minute of the match, but in the 91st minute, it was 1-1. And Wolves just felt they could do something more and continue to push and again, Sarabia was there to send a powerful cross to Lemina, who stunned the visitors and gave the home fans joy. If the game finished with a Spurs win, it would not be fair, since the visitors managed to 'surprise' the guests and score at the beginning of the match. But they have don little since that opening goal and in fact, their biggest chance after that was when Lo Celso's volley was saved by Sa in the 88th minute.

Spurs won the ball possession but it was the Wolves with better chances throughout the match. Wolves have recorded just one win in their last eight home meetings against Spurs and this would be their nineth if it wasn't for Sarabia. The home team had better chances but they just didn't have a classy finisher to materialize them all. Ait-Nouri, Cunha and even Hwang missed their great opportunities, but luckily fot the Wolves, Sarabia, who came at the start of the season as Lopeague's wish, was introduced and resolved everything. After a great start of the season, Tottenham now have two straight defeats and Postecoglou will have to use this international break to rest his team and do some pep talk.
