Free spending Tusker snap up dynamic winger

FKF Premier League club Tusker FC have completed their fourth signing of the off-season transfer window, acquiring Ulinzi Stars winger Yakeen Muteheli on a two-year deal.

Muteheli, 26, joins the Brewers following an impressive 2024-2025 season, which saw him attract lots of offers in the last few weeks, on top of making Kenya’s preliminary squad for the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) .

"Muteheli, known for his pace, creativity, and work ethic on the flanks, brings added depth and flair to the Brewers’ attack ahead of the upcoming season," the club said in their statement on Saturday, 26 July.

Under coach Danstan Nyaudo last season, Muteheli was directly involved in 10 goals; scoring five and assisting a similar number.

"Yakeen is a dynamic and intelligent player who will undoubtedly add value to our team," Tusker coach Charles Okere told the club website.

"His ability to take on defenders and deliver in the final third is something we’ve been keen to add, and we are pleased to have him on board."

The winger's signing comes hours after the Ruaraka-based side summoned the services of former striker Eric Kapaito, also in a bid to further sharpen the team's attack that fluffed last season..

The pair join defender Eugene Ikutwa and midfielder Vincent Otieno, who joined from Bidco United and Nairobi City Stars respectively.

On signing with Tusker, Muteheli, a former Lirhembe Arsenal and Vickers FC player, said: “I’m honored to join a club of Tusker’s stature.
