A beautiful gesture from Real Betis, who, through their Foundation, paid tribute to the club’s oldest members and gave them the opportunity to walk out onto the pitch with the players
On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons (October 1), Real Betis Balompie, through its Foundation, carried out a series of activities to pay tribute to senior citizens, recognizing their vital role both in society and within the Betis family.
The celebration began on Sunday at La Cartuja, during Betis’ 2–0 victory over Osasuna. Before kick-off, the first-team players walked onto the pitch alongside 11 senior club members, a gesture honoring their loyalty and long-standing connection with the club, while also underscoring the importance of care and respect for older generations.

Throughout the following week, the Foundation also organized several initiatives. One included a visit to a retirement home, where Foundation president Rafael Gordillo took part in distributing books about the history of Betis. This marked the first of several such donations, intended to bring the club’s memory and identity closer to elderly supporters.
Members of the El Roble Solidario association also enjoyed an activity at the Real Betis Eco-garden, where they shared a day focused on sustainability, nature, and togetherness.

By marking this year’s International Day of Older Persons, Betis once again reaffirmed its devotion to inclusion, solidarity, and gratitude toward those who have been a fundamental part of both the club and society for decades.
