The Gor Mahia boss had missed the past three league rounds

After jetting back to the country from the festive season break, Gor Mahia head coach Mark Harrison intends to build on the 1-0 win recorded over Mathare United and guide the club back to the top.

Harrison quietly flew back to the country this week and has confirmed that he will be in charge on Sunday when they take on league debutants FC Talanta at the Kasarani Stadium.

The return of the former Township Rollers boss comes at a time when Gor faithfuls were crossing fingers over his future at the club having watched his predecessors return home only to resign and take up employment elsewhere.

The former Township Rollers tactician missed three games against Nairobi City Stars, Nzoia Sugar and Mathare and will look to build on last weekend's win and fire the club back to the top three.

Gor managed to reap four points out of the possible nine as they lost 2-0 to Simba wa Nairobi before playing Nzoia Sugar to a one all draw away at Sudi Stadium.

Gor kicked off the season on a positive note and at some point appeared to be early title contenders but a rough patch witnessed in the past weeks has seen them fall outside the top five bracket although, they have a match in hand.

"It feels good to be back to the team after some weeks of rest back at home. I am raring to go and most importantly, to help the team get back to the top two slots," he said.

Harrison in the meantime hailed Pamzo for holding brief for him and the results he managed to achieve given the latest developments at the club where a handful of players are reported to have ghosted the club.

"I am proud of what Sammy (Pamzo) achieved while I was away. He is a top professional who understands the players and has always wants them to get positive results," he added.
