Speaking ahead of the upcoming international FIFA window, Bismark-Mensah explained that, while the call-ups are a mark of pride, they also come with physical and tactical challenges at the club level.

Seven Gor Mahia players have been included in the national team ahead of the friendly matches against Equatorial Guinea and Senegal.

Stars will face Equatorial Guinea on Friday, 14 November at the Emir Complex, before taking on the former African champions on Tuesday, 18 November at the Mardan Stadium.

“We have several regular players in our team that play for the national team; it is good, but when there is a break like this, especially when they are not playing home games, they travel here and there. Before they come, they will be a bit tired,” he said.

“Sometimes it affects their strength, but at the end of the day, it is also good for them to get that exposure. We just have to manage it and make sure we get the best out of them,” added the Ghanaian tactician.

Among the seven called up are Bryton Onyona, who received his first-ever national team invitation after stellar performances for Gor Mahia.

His inclusion is seen as a reward for hard work, discipline, and consistency.

The other K’Ogalo players named in the squad are goalkeeper Bryne Omondi, defenders Sylvester Owino and Mike Kibwage, and midfielders Alpha Onyango, Shariff Musa and Austine Odhiambo, all key contributors to the club’s recent successes.
