Gyokeres' Arsenal debut in North London Derby? Too good to be true

The Gunners take on Spurs in the first-ever clash between them outside the UK on Thursday in Hong Kong (2.30 pm)

It is written in the stars - one could say about the possibility of Viktor Gyokeres making his Arsenal debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the first-ever North London Derby to be held outside the United Kingdom.

The archrivals from the UK capital are about to face off on Thursday afternoon (2.30 pm) in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong.

That could be a chance for Mikel Arteta to provide his newest reinforcement with an opportunity to clock his first minutes in the Gunners' No. 14 shirt. The Swedish international probably won't be in the starting XI against Spurs, but there's a chance we'll see him make a debut in the second half.

Some media speculate that the Spanish boss won't take any risks in a skirmish with Thomas Frank's side, especially considering that some Tottenham players - like Cristian Romero, for instance - don't have the word 'friendly' in their dictionary.

After Riccardo Calafiori's recent injury in the pre-season friendly, the Gunners are certainly more cautious and unwilling to risk too much a few weeks before the new Premier League season starts.

Furthermore, 15-year-old Max Dowman was treated to a warm Premier League welcome by Newcastle's Joelinton even before the start of the ECL campaign. The Brazilian midfielder gave the teenager a glimpse of the physicality he's about to face in the near future.
