Mwanalima initially joined HB Køge on loan from National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) outfit Kansas City Current during the summer transfer window.
Her impressive form and quick adaptation have convinced the Danish club to secure her services on a permanent deal running until the summer of 2027.
HB Køge sports director Jonas Nielsen confirmed the signing, praising the Kenya international’s impact.
“We are really happy that Jereko is continuing at the club. She is a talented player who has quickly become an important part of the team. It was natural for us to continue the collaboration because she thrives here and fits perfectly into the squad dynamics,” Nielsen said.
During her loan spell, Mwanalima made 13 appearances and scored one goal, an away strike against FCV Farul Constanța.
Her creativity, work rate, and versatility in midfield have cemented her place as one of HB Køge’s key contributors this season.
The 28-year-old midfielder expressed her excitement at making her stay permanent.
“I am staying because it feels like home. I have a really good connection with the people here, and I believe in the direction we are moving in. I am really happy to be here and cannot wait to keep giving everything I have,” she said.

Before her move to Denmark, Mwanalima signed for Kansas City Current in a high-profile transfer.
However, limited playing time in the NWSL prompted her loan switch to HB Køge in search of regular minutes, a decision that has paid off, with the forward rediscovering her best form in Europe.
Her resurgence has also been reflected on the international stage.
Mwanalima played a pivotal role in helping Harambee Starlets qualify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scoring in both legs of the final qualifying round against The Gambia.
Kenya will be returning to the continental showpiece for the first time since 2016.
HB Køge will wrap up the year with their final A-League home match this Saturday against FC Nordsjælland, where the Kenyan star will be keen to extend her fine run.
Mwanalima’s stint at Kansas City included winning the 2024 NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup, although she did not score in her three appearances.
