KCB midfielder considering switching into central defence after punching abve his weight in three league matches
Versatile KCB midfielder Harun Thomas is open to the idea of fully transitioning into a centre back after being deployed to partner with Nahashon Alembi at the heart of the defence in the last three league matches.
Harun, a natural defensive midfielder has comfortably filled in the void left at the club's central defence occasioned by the absence of the trio of Rama Mwenda, Moses Odhiambo and Bethwel Warambo who are all injured.
His partnership with the towering Alembi has seen the Ruaraka based club leak in a goal in the three matches leaving him mulling over the possibility of switching to a defender.
Harun who is commonly known as Mwalimu owing to his qualification as a primary school teacher had seen limited playing time thanks to the competition from the duo of Michael Mutinda and Brian Ochieng since joining in January last year.

He however says he is ready to quench his thirst for playing time by slotting in the central defence whenever called upon by coach Zedekiah 'Zico' Otieno going forward.
"At first I struggled in the new territory but the support from Alembi and the rest of the team has helped me settle. I do not have any problem with the coach if he decides to transform me into a defender. I am always ready to play anywhere and to help the team win matches, " he said.
The former Sony Sugar captain who opened his goal account at KCB during their 3-0 humiliation of Bandari last weekend revealed of how Zico began modifying him into centre half.

He said that the former Harambee Stars assistant coach deployed him in the department during three pre-season friendlies against AFC Leopards, Nairobi City Stars and the national U20 team.
"I first played as a centre back during three of our pre-season friendlies. Most of our central defenders were injured and the coach had confidence in me. I will continue working hard and hopefully, my contribution will seal my place in the team even when the rest of the defenders are back, " he added.
