Superstition is a frequent phenomenon in sports, and football is no exception. Yet, when it comes to the most important secondary things in the world, goalkeepers are most susceptible to superstition, as their job is the most unique and error-prone. For some reason, they think that an established order of doing things or some habit would keep their streak of good luck going.

If found guilty, City are facing 40+ points deduction

For instance, legendary Arsenal custodian and member of "The Invincibles" Jens Lehmann wore the same gloves for 48 games until the Gunners' unbeaten run ended. However, Man City keeper Ederson has pushed the boundaries even further.

Namely, speaking with another former Cityzens' goalie Shay Given in the show Football Focus, the Brazilian revealed his only superstition - wearing the same underwear on matchdays! And it's been going on for eight years?!

"I have only one superstition. I play every game in the same boxers. Eight years, the same boxers," Ederson bluntly admitted.

Whether because of the keeper's underwear or not, Man City have been doing pretty well in the aforementioned period, winning 18 trophies, including six Premier Leagues and the 2023 UEFA Champions League.

Still, this Cityzens' season has been abysmal, so it may be time for Ederson to change the "sacred" underwear and move on.
