Homeboyz forward cools off title talks

Despite currently possessing a seven-point buffer at the summit of the log, Kakamega Homeboyz forward Michael Isabwa believes they still have work cut out to land the title.

Abana Abeingo have a game in hand over Tusker FC who beat Gor Mahia 2-0 on Saturday to whittle down Homeboyz’ lead from 10 to seven points.

Speaking to Mozzart Sport, Isabwa admitted that despite the healthy gap at the summit of the log, there is still more work to be done to land the title.

“We have a good gap at the summit of the log but the season is still far from being over, we have around nine matches which is 27 points and that is a lot to fight for. We still have a lot of work to do before we can say the title is ours though we are top of the table, the journey still continues,” said Isabwa.

Homeboyz have matters in their own hands in the title race and could be on course for their maiden league crown since their inception back in 2010.

Having joined Homeboyz in the mid-season transfer window, Isabwa opened up on how he has settled to life in Kakamega since his move from Vihiga Bullets.

“Life at Homeboyz is good, if you look at the team everyone is working hard which makes the team competitive and everyone who gets a chance uses it well. Competition is high and in every position, we have good backups which makes every player be on toes,” added the former Vihiga Bullets forward.
