Kenyan international Ismael Salim Dunga has found a new home after signing with Indonesian side RANS Nusantara FC, formerly known as Cilegon United and RANS Cilegon.
The 32-year-old joins the club after parting ways with Sham Shui Po Sports Association, a Hong Kong professional club competing in the Hong Kong First Division.

RANS Nusantara is based in the future capital city of Nusantara, but the club hosts its matches in Pasuruan, East Java. The team is currently competing in Liga 2, the second division of Indonesian football, and Dunga is tasked with helping them gain promotion to the top tier. The club was formed in 2021 after being acquired by 37-year-old Raffi Ahmad, an Indonesian actor, presenter, singer, entrepreneur, media personality, and film producer.
Dunga spent just over a year with the Hong Kong side Sham Shui Po, making 16 appearances before leaving for the Indonesian team. He did not manage to score a goal for his former club. Dunga has been something of a journeyman over the past decade, typically spending around a year at each club he’s been with since 2014.
His move to RANS Nusantara marks the 15th club he has played for since 2011, when he joined the now-defunct Congo United.
The soft-spoken striker joined the defunct Sony Sugar in 2012 before switching to Tusker FC at the end of that year, staying until 2015—the longest he has stayed at any single club.
He then switched to Nakumatt FC in 2016, which was the last club he played for locally.
Dunga later moved to Greek side Acharnaikos, then to Moroccan club Raja Beni Mellal. From there, he joined Napsa Stars in Zambia before leaving the continent again to join Albanian sides Luftetari, Tirana, and KF Vllaznia.
He then moved to Asia, playing for Japan’s Sagan Tosu, followed by Sham Shui Po, and now RANS Nusantara.
