Atletico Madrid striker granted the wish of a Los Colchoneros fan who recently lost his daughter

Professional athletes are idols to many, and we sometimes witness situations in which they act inappropriately or just don't find time to take a picture or exchange a few words with their passionate supporters.

And as much as we understand the pressure and the need for them just to be themselves and enjoy a bit of privacy, with the popularity also comes the necessity of showing you do care. Because you're much more for those folks than just another person.

Therefore, we were touched by Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez's latest gesture. The ex-Manchester City forward took to social media to inform us about paying a heartfelt tribute to a deceased fan.

The Argentine player placed a flower on the pitch at the Wanda Metropolitano in memory of a deceased fan on Sunday, a day before Atleti's La Liga clash against Real Betis. The gesture was a tribute to the fan, whose family gave the flower to Alvarez and asked him to place it in the centre of the field.

"An Atleti fan told me his daughter had passed away and gave me this flower. He asked me to put it in the centre of the field. We're going to grant his wish."

It doesn't take much to be a human. Julian proved it.
