The striker will continue his recovery at the Belgium national team's training centre, while the Neapolitans will eagerly await offers for him
The turbulent relationship between Napoli and Romelu Lukaku appears to be over for good, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. However, instead of the usual drama and disputes, the two sides are reportedly set for an amicable split.
The Belgian and the Serie A giants fell out in March when the powerful striker decided to continue his recovery from a muscle injury in his homeland, refusing to return to Naples.
Consequently, the club imposed a financial penalty, yet it was clear that their partnership had reached a breaking point. So, Napoli decided to act maturely and preserve both their own and the player's dignity, instead of fuelling further conflict.
Therefore, as Gazzetta claims, Lukaku will continue his recovery at the Belgium national team's training centre, this time with the club's permission, and prepare for the upcoming World Cup.

On the other hand, the Neapolitans will eagerly await offers for the 33-year-old, particularly from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
This way, Lukaku's two-year spell at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona is heading toward an inglorious yet dignified end. He will be remembered as one of the key figures in Napoli's Scudetto-winning campaign last season, while his 15 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances deserved respect.
Now, both sides appear ready to turn the page.
