Ryan Reynolds is the owner of a small Welsh football club who just went into the FA Trophy final
Wrexham is a large market town in Wales, with around 70.000 inhabitants who often find themselves in lack of excitement. An everyday life in a small town doesn’t offer too much joy, but the local football club, Wrexham A.F.C. is competing in the English league (fifth tier), and is the focal point of the town. And for some time now, Wrexam has a certain ‘Hollywood aura’, mainly due to the fact that it’s owned by American actors Ryan Reynolds and ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ star Rob McElhenney. And while the pair usually excites audiences around the world, especially Reynolds with Deadpool and other action films, Wrexham A.F.C provided the Hollywood magic of it’s own for their owner.
Seeing this in person was a top ten life moment for me. Thank you, @Wrexham_AFC https://t.co/IlIPDwos5V

Reynolds was in attendance for the Saturday’s FA Trophy semifinal only to witness a dramatic Wrexham win with two goals in stoppage time which secured his club’s first FA Trophy final (and a trip to Wembley on May 22nd) since 2015. On top of that, both goals were scored by a prolific striker Paul Mullin, whose arrival was financed by Reynolds in his attempt to secure Wrexham’s promotion to the Conference league. Mullin was especially effective with his first goal, which finally defeated their rival in the National League Stockport, who were unbeaten in the last 21 games.

His chip over the keeper delighted Reynolds, who ran to the pitch after the game to hug Mullin, and later declared on social networks that this game was among his top 10 life moments. The Hollywood actor also received ovations from the crowd, who acknowledged his financial efforts to bring good players and experienced coach in order to advance to the Conference Leeague. 'There's only one Ryan Reynolds,' echoed around the Racecourse Ground after the game. Wrexham are currently third in the National League and stand a good chance of promotion.

FA Trophy is a men's football knockout cup competition run by and named after the English Football Association and competed for primarily by semi-professional teams. The competition was instigated in 1969 to cater for those non-league clubs that paid their players and were therefore not eligible to enter the FA Amateur Cup.
