Francis Kahata wants to remain in the Tanzanian Premier League after parting ways with Simba SC.
Kenyan international Francis Kahata has laid bare his tempestuous final season at Simba SC and opened the door for Yanga SC and Azam transfers.
After numerous speculations surrounding his future at Simba, the club parted ways with the experienced midfielder on Saturday 5 June, a month before the expiry of his two year contract signed in 2019.
The 29-year-old has since returned back to Kenya as a free agent and has issued a come get me plea to Simba’s sworn enemies Yanga SC and moneybags Azam FC.
“Any team that wants my services even if it’s Yanga or Azam, once we get into an agreement I’m ready to play for them because football is my life. I don’t really mind the pay what matters is if I’m happy and my agent agrees to the move,” he said in an interview with Mwanaspoti.

Kahata has been on the periphery at Simba this season as he faced stiff competition from Luis Miquissone, Hassan Dilunga, Clatous Chama, Bernard Morrison, Rally Bwalya and Perfect Chikwende.
The former Gor Mahia midfielder was only utilized in the CAF Champions League and was shocked to learn of his league squad omission from social media but thanked the Simba huge fan base.
“I heard about the chances of my license on social media six months ago when I was in Kenya. I learnt that I would only be playing in the CAF Champions League due of the foreign quota at the club,”
“I thank the Simba management under the leadership of Mo Dewji for believing in me and handing me a two year contract. I will not forget the fans who sacrificed their work to support the team - I have never seen such supporters maybe from Gor Mahia fans in the past,” added Kahata.
Future plans
The midfielder also opened up on plans for his daughter, Winslet Kahata to turn professional in future and follow his footsteps and on the various CSR activities he's been conducting.
"I want my daughter to be like me or her mum who used to play for Mathare United Women and who I met in Norway and started our relationship from there. I want to help academies so that young talents can realize their dreams because they go through a lot of challenges," he said,
“My agent usually advises me and encourages me to give back to the community by donating hand sanitizers and water to the residents of Mathare and also issuing of balls to a number of academies in the area,” he added.
