Police were crowned champions following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Madira Soccer Assassins in a match played at the Police Sacco Stadium.

The Law Enforcers ended the season with 52 points, eight points above second-placed Ulinzi Starlets as Trinity Starlets closed the top three following an impressive season.

At the Police Sacco Stadium, the hosts began the match on a high note, pressing Madira high up the pitch.

However, by the 15th minute, neither side had created good chances to break the deadlock.

Police found the back of the net in the 41st minute through Elizabeth Okwaro after being fed by Puren Alukwe.

In other matches of the day, Ulinzi Stars ended the season with a 7-1 demolition of Bungoma Queens while Kayole Starlets finished with a 4-1 win over varsity side Zetech Sparks.

Gideon Starlets secured a goalless draw against Trinity Starlets but it was not enough to save them from relegation.

Despite getting to 15 points, their inferior goal difference to Madira saw them face the chop while Trinity secured third place.

Police will shift their attention to the CAF Champions League CECAFA qualifiers.
