The poor run has seen Singida drop to sixth place on the table with 25 points after 17 matches, leaving them four points off the continental qualification spots

Tanzanian club Singida Black Stars has announced the dissolution of its entire technical bench following Sunday’s 2-0 loss to TRA United.

The decision directly affects three Kenyan coaches who were part of the setup.

Assistant coach David Ouma, goalkeepers' trainer Lawrence Webo and Brian Aswani, who served as video analyst, have all been relieved of their duties following the club's announcement.

The management of Singida Black Stars Club (Singida BS) officially announces the dissolution of the team's entire technical bench effective today, April 5, 2026,” read part of the club’s statement.

The club added that the decision was based on a poor run of results in recent matches, while promising to communicate on an interim technical bench ahead of upcoming fixtures.

“This decision has been reached due to the team's poor performance following unsatisfactory results in the recent period. The club will provide information about the interim coaching staff as it continues preparations for upcoming games,” the statement continued.

Singida’s run in the domestic league has been far from convincing in recent weeks, with the defeat to TRA United proving to be the final blow.

The club has lost four of its last matches, although it can be argued that some of those defeats came against Tanzanian heavyweights such as Simba, Young Africans (Yanga), and Azam FC.

The poor run has seen Singida drop to sixth place on the table with 25 points after 17 matches, leaving them four points off the continental qualification spots, albeit with a game in hand.

Ouma joined the club in November 2024 as an assistant coach under Ramadhan Nsazurwino.

He later stepped in as interim head coach in February 2025, helping the team secure qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.

Following the arrival of Miguel Gamondi, he reverted to the assistant role.

In January 2026, he once again took charge as head coach after Gamondi was appointed Tanzania national team coach, before returning to an assistant position when Othmen Najjar was brought in.

Webo joined Singida in July 2024, reuniting with Patrick Aussems, whom he had previously worked with at AFC Leopards, while Aswani was appointed in November 2025.
