Kimanzi praised Wanga who will be retiring at the end of the season.
Former Harambee Stars coach Francis Kimanzi has hailed retiring Kakamega Homeboyz striker Allan Wanga saying his club will miss him when he hangs his boots at the end of the season.
Two weeks ago, Wanga announced that he would be bowing out at the end of the season. The 35-year old forward says he wants to focus on his job at Kakamega County where he is currently serving as a sports officer.
Already Homeboyz coach Nicholas Muyoti has rejected Wanga’s decision to retire. According to Muyoti, the striker had promised to deliver a title to his club before retiring and has urged him to keep his work.

Former Kenyan international Allan Wanga has announced that he will be retiring at the end of the current #FKFPL campaign.
Wanga, who currently plays for Kakamega Homeboyz has also turned out for Tusker FC, AFC Leopards, and Sofapaka FC locally.
Kimanzi who worked with the Homeboyz skipper at the national team has hailed him. He praised his predatory skills inside the penalty area.
“He is dangerous with any balls from the side. Wanga is a very strong, brave, and composed striker, Homeboyz will definitely miss him. He is a specialist in his position such that he is always dangerous even when he is not at his best,” he said during the Radull Live Show.
Kimanzi also downplayed claims that he is not skillful saying as a coach he only wants the striker to score goals.
“You will always find him at the center taking on defenders. Some fans have complained that he is not skillful enough but as a coach, I just needed him to deliver. I was not so much concerned about whether he is skilled or not,” he added.
Wanga has played in Azerbaijan, Vietnam, Sudan, Angola, and Tanzania. Locally he turned out for Tusker, Sofapaka, and AFC Leopards before moving to Homeboyz.
