According to Haji Manara, South African giants Orlando Pirates are interested in Joash Onyango.
Simba SC Communications Officer Haji Manara has sensationally claimed that the club has slapped a $1 million (slightly over Ksh 100 million) price tag on Kenyan International Joash Onyango amid reports of interest from South Africa giants Orlando Pirates.
The former Gor Mahia centre-back has had an outstanding season with Simba especially in the CAF Champions League where they finished ahead of African heavyweights Al Ahly in Group A.
In an interview with one of the Tanzania radio stations, Manara claimed that he had received a call from Orlando Pirates who inquired about the services of Onyango.
“Let me reveal a secret, yesterday one of the Orlando Pirates managers called me to ask about the price of Onyango and I joked that he was worth one million dollars,"
“He has already gotten to that top bracket, he has regularly been chosen as the best centre back in the Champions League, if he is worth that much how much do you think Miquissone, Manula and Chama will be worth?” noted Manara.

Joash was named in the CAF Champions League team of the week after Match Day Two where Simba SC staged a massive upset by stunning Al Ahly 1-0.
The 28-year-old was recently named the Simba March Player of the Month after fending off strong opposition from Aishi Manula and Luís Miquissone.
Manara went on to thank Simba SC chairman Mohammed Dewji who has pumped millions into the club and emphasized the importance of investing in a club.
“Without Mo we would never have signed Muquissone or be able to pay Chama the players and staff cost Simba over Tsh.300 million in a month (approx Ksh.14 million).”
“Simba is like a government ministry, results cannot come if you do not invest. How will you get results if the players are not giving you 100%,” added Manara.
