He says the law keepers have an impressive vision and that impressed him
Newly appointed Kenya Police coach Zdravko Logarusic says the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) has become more competitive compared to when he was here a few years ago.
But the Croat has complained that the pace of the game has become annoyingly slow.
“Coming back for the third time, I can say the league has become more competitive. It is difficult to say who will win it at the end of the season. We have about four or five teams that are capable of becoming champions,” he said.
“The only downside is that the matches are too slow and it is shown by the few goals scored. The players are too cautious and too defensive minded. It takes an average of two and half hours to see a goal and that is not good,” he pointed out.
Logarusic insisted that the Kenyan league remains a sleeping giant that is let down by small things.
“I have been saying this since I came here the first time ten years ago. Some things need to be fixed in order to make it explode. Most of the pitches still look bad and they need to be fixed,” he offered.
Asked why he chose to join Police, Logarusic said the law keepers have an impressive vision and a plan which impressed him.
“They have serious players and a good plan that contributed to my decision to come here.”
The tactician added that he is determined to do well with Police this season and believes he has what it takes.
“I came here to make a good impact with the team. I will do my best and with hard work we should be able to do better than last season. As a new coach, I have to introduce a new philosophy and hope the players will adapt quickly.”
