Nairobi City Stars midfielder Michael Madoya is delighted after making his cameo appearance for Nairobi City Stars in the 2-0 win over Bidco United last weekend.

Madoya featured for the last 10 minutes in the match after coming on for Timothy Ouma in the 80th minute with City Stars already leading.

Speaking to the club's media, Madoya noted that he was happy to play his first match for his new club, adding that he would have liked to cap it with a goal or more.

After making his appearance for City Stars, the 2017 Most Valuable Player with Kericho-based Zoo FC is now focusing on helping his club achieve more this campaign.

“I could have been happier if I came on and scored at least a goal. I wanted to come on with a bang and announce myself with a goal, if not goals. That would have been memorable. Nonetheless, I am happy to have grabbed my first game at City Stars and I hope to feature in many more and aid the club to greater fortunes,” Madoya said.

The former Zoo midfielder was among the players who were deemed surplus and released at Tusker at the end of the previous campaign before making the switch to City Stars.

Before making his debut in Thika, Madoya was an unused substitute in the two wins that preceded the Bidco game over Kenya Police and Wazito FC.

He was one of the only three additions at Simba wa Nairobi alongside left-back Dennis Decha Wanjala from Nzoia Sugar and stopper Lennox Ogutu from Mathare United.

Madoya was rarely used while at Tusker, managing to score his first league goal in a rare start against Kakamega Homeboyz in Tusker's march towards the title although he had managed to score a hat-trick in the 9-0 win against Mihuu United in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup.

City Stars are currently at the summit of the log with nine points after four games from three wins.
